Thurs. March 23 10:00 am Meet at the Highbanks Camper Contact Station Parking Lot (opposite side of park road from Perry Entrance). Bring a lunch. (4 hrs, 3 miles) May have access to a part of the Park that you would not ordinarily visit by yourself.

Indoors. Learn about the Fungal Kingdom and its role in life on earth. Lots of examples to examine. Meet at the Visitor Center at Letchworth State Park at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2006. 2 hours.

Spring has Sprung! Join an expert naturalist to look for signs of spring in Letchworth State Park. Meet at the Mt. Morris Entrance Gate at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2006. 3 hours, 2 miles.

Take a longer, more challenging hike on the wild East side of Letchworth State Park. Meet at the River Road Junction on Route 408 out of Mt. Morris towards Nunda on Wednesday March 29, 2006 at 10:00 am. Will car pool. Dress for the weather and bring lunch and beverage. On and off trail with elevation changes. 4 1/2 hours, 4 miles.

DOCENT TRAINING BEGINS! The first training and informational meeting for Letchworth State Park Docents will be Tuesday, April 4 at 10 AM. Come and learn about the program and the park. Meet at Park Visitor Center. Bring a friend!

Meet at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April8, 2006 at the Letchworth State Park Visitor Center to learn how to catch the elusive wild Trout. Learn about different species and their habitats, lures and techniques. Weather permitting, actual fishing will follow classroom time. Bring your our fishing gear. (3 hours)

Learn about the many species of fungi that thrive in Letchworth State Park on a walk on the east side. Meet at the Parade Grounds Entrance off Route 436 at 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 9, 2006. Dress for expected weather and bring water and lunch. (3 hours, 1 mile)

Enjoy big and little waterfalls in Letchworth State Park on this walk around part of the original 1,000 acre estate of William Pryor Letchworth. Meet on Sunday, April 9, 2006, at 2:00 PM at the park museum. (2 hours, 1 1/2 miles)

Explore the wild east side of Letchworth State Park on this off-trail ramble visiting a river tributary. Meet on Thursday, April 13, at 10 AM at the Parade Grounds Entrance on Route 436. Expect mud, brambles, stream crossings and steep sections. Bring water and lunch and dress for the weather. Will car pool. ( 4 hours, 2 miles.)

Visit the fastest changing waterfall in Letchworth State Park on Saturday, April 15, 2006. Meet in the parking lot beyond Cabin area "B" on the Lower Falls Road at 1:00 PM. There will be lots of stepps to descend and then climb back up and lots of mud. (2 hours, 1 mile)

Timberdoodle is another name for a woodcock, a small, brown bird that makes a beautiful sound with wind whistling through his wings as he flies courtship displays in the darkening evening sky. Visit the Haunts of the Timberdoodle on the east side of Letchworth State Park on Saturday, April 15 at 6:30 PM. Meet at the entrance road to the Mount Morris Dam on Route 408 outside Mt. Morris towards Nunda. Be prepared for brush and mud and bring a good flashlight. (2 hours, 1 mile)
