Visit the fastest changing waterfall in Letchworth State Park on Saturday, April 15, 2006. Meet in the parking lot beyond Cabin area "B" on the Lower Falls Road at 1:00 PM. There will be lots of stepps to descend and then climb back up and lots of mud. (2 hours, 1 mile)

Timberdoodle is another name for a woodcock, a small, brown bird that makes a beautiful sound with wind whistling through his wings as he flies courtship displays in the darkening evening sky. Visit the Haunts of the Timberdoodle on the east side of Letchworth State Park on Saturday, April 15 at 6:30 PM. Meet at the entrance road to the Mount Morris Dam on Route 408 outside Mt. Morris towards Nunda. Be prepared for brush and mud and bring a good flashlight. (2 hours, 1 mile)

Join thousands in many nations worldwide in celebrating Trees on Arbor Day. Help plant a tree in Letchworth State Park. Meet at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 28 in the Glen Iris / Middle Falls area of Letchworth State Park. The 1/2 hour planting will be followed by a two hour short and slow tree walk in that same area. If you plan to go on the walk, bring water and a lunch.

Join Master Fisherman George Dovolas at Silver Lake State Park Boat Launch at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 6 to learn all about catching fish at the lake. Bring your own tackle if you have it. George will discuss gear, lures, and technique. The boat launch is off West Lake Road. (3 hours)

See parts of the park that few have visited. Meet at the junction of Pennycook Road and State Route 436 (1/4 mile east of Parade Grounds Entrance)at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 11. Supporters of The Genesee Naturalist and park volunteers are invited to join for a luncheon at the Glen Iris on Saturday, May 13. We will pay our own way and order from the menue. Lunch will be from 11:30 until about 1:00. We will meet at 1:30 to car pool and take short walks to visit special park places. Make reservations to Doug Bassett at 585-493-3625 by Monday, May 8.
